Join our Head Gardener, Brian Cunningham, for his next Walled Garden Experience - The Garden in Spring.

This full day experience will teach you all you need to know about the tasks you can be getting done in your own garden throughout spring. Get hands on as Brian teaches you about bulb care and bed mulching, and demonstrates how to lift and split herbaceous plants. You will also have plenty of opportunity to tap into his expert knowledge and ask any of your own gardening questions.

The day will start at 10am and finish at around 4pm and includes  lunch  at the Palace in our Old Kitchen. All tools will be supplied but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. Be sure to dress for the outdoors and bring your own gardening gloves.

Ticket for this event are £110 per person, with limited spaces available.

Please note as this is an outdoor event it is weather dependent. In the case of adverse weather conditions we will try to reschedule the event to an appropriate date.

Brian Cunningham, Head Gardener at Scone Palace and presenter on Beechgrove Garden, will conduct a series of gardening experiences throughout the seasons. This will be a hands-on activity with a maximum group size of 10 and Brian will teach you all you need to know about which jobs need to be done in the garden at various times of the year.

The workshops will start at 10am and finish at around 1pm, with tea, coffee and biscuits included. There will be plenty of opportunity to discover all you need to know about shrub pruning, beech hedge reduction, glasshouse care, topiary as well as talking to Brian, about his plans for Scone Palace Gardens going forward.  

All tools will be supplied but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. Be sure to dress for the outdoors and bring your own gardening gloves.

Evening Gardens Tour with Brian Cunningham Evening Gardens Tour with Brian Cunningham Evening Gardens Tour

The evening will begin at 5.30pm with a 2 course meal, with a choice of Balmoral chicken or macaroni cheese, followed by dessert and tea and coffee, all served in the Old Kitchen, The tour, with our Head Gardener, Brian Cunningham, will commence at 6.30pm and you will be guided around 100 acres of our glorious gardens including the Victorian Pinetum, Murray Star Maze, Walled Garden restoration project and the Kitchen Garden.

Brian will share his passion for the history of the garden including how David Douglas started his horticultural career as a gardener here at Scone Palace. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask Brian about your gardening related questions. The evening will finish at approximately 9pm. 

Numbers are limited to a maximum of 16 guests.
